  • 2 red dragon fruits aka pitaya or 12 oz. bag frozen pitaya cubes or 2 - 3.5 oz. frozen pitaya packets
  • 4 blood oranges or regular oranges
Fresh Vegetables
  • 1 red chili or other hot red pepper omit for mild flavor
Fresh Herbs - Spices
  • 2 inch piece ginger root
Optional
  • 2 inch piece turmeric root omit if you cannot find fresh turmeric root

Instructions
  1. Wash all ingredients. Slice dragon fruit or pitaya in half lengthwise, peel, and run through juicer. If using frozen pitaya cubes or packets thaw before using and mix directly to finished juice without running through juicer.
  2. Slice oranges in half and remove peel. Cut away excess pith and discard. Divide into sections and run through juicer.
  3. Peel and chop ginger and turmeric and run through juicer. If using, remove stem from chili pepper and run through juicer. Seeds and membranes add the heat. Omit hot pepper for mild flavor.
  4. Divide juice into two glasses and serves. Optional - serve over ice or pour into glass bottles or jars with tight fitting lid and refrigerate until chilled.
  5. Note - you can sub regular oranges for the blood oranges. Juice will be a different color but will taste the same.
