  • 10 ounce package frozen bananas or 2 cups ripe bananas sliced and frozen
Dried Spices - Seasonings
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder or raw cacao powder
  • 2 inch piece vanilla bean
Canned - Jarred
  • 2 tablespoons full fat coconut milk or more, if needed to help blend
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cashew butter or almond or other nut butter w/o sugar or oil
Optional Garnish
  • fresh strawberries, sliced
  • fresh mint leaves

  • 2 tablespoons full fat coconut milk or more, if needed to help blend
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cashew butter or almond or other nut butter w/o sugar or oil

Instructions
  1. If using fresh ripe bananas, peel, slice, and freeze overnight.
  2. Add frozen banana slices, cocoa or raw cacao powder, unsweetened cashew or other nut butter, and coconut milk to inverted blender cup of blender or use small bowl of a food processor.
  3. Cut about a 2-inch piece of vanilla bean. Split lengthwise and scrape seeds into blender cup.
  4. Blend until mixture resembles soft serve ice cream in consistency. If needed, add more coconut milk to help blend.
  5. Eat right away or transfer to individual dessert bowls or small container, cover, and freezer until firmer.
  6. Optional Garnish - serve with fresh sliced strawberries and sprig of mint.
